Not so sure that Microsoft would. Their portion of the code is really 
very old code. Most of that was written back in 1978 to 1979 time 
frame. 

Even if one were to do a Coco 4 in a SoC or not, a more modern 
graphic chip would be used. That would in itself require a major 
rewrite of the graphics portion of the basic interpreter. It would be 
stupid to add another layer on top of MS and Microware's code to 
make use of say an improved GIME Chip. One can be backward 
compatible with the commands and funtiions, but the actual code 
can be so varied that it will not appear as a copy and alteration of 
exhisting code. 

This is like the old arguemnt in music copyright. How many 
consecutive notes constitutes a violation of  one's music and is a 
copy of it.
