Quick things: 

Read your OCR software documentation. It will tell you the format TIFF file
it wants. I think it's usually LZW, but I don't recall.

When you save the pasted file, make sure it's also straight and square.
(Paint Shop Pro has a nice combo of straighten and perspective tools for
that.)
