Without a detailed schematic it's impossible to say for sure, but
essentially the process would involve removing/bypassing the digital
input circuitry and feeding the analog section of the monitor. It may be
trivial or complex depending on the circumstance.
Also note that technically, the CM-4 and other TTL monitors may not work
at all due to the analog signal from the CoCo 3 being below the
threshold voltage for a TTL circuit. Also the polarity of sync pulses
may be wrong, etc.
I did turn a CM-8 into a CGA monitor with a few resistors and diodes
when I moved into PC-land, so perhaps the sync is close enough to work.
