Ok, here's the deal...

The 'Ass Clown of the Day' award goes to Doteasy.com.  Over 300,000 
customers across the world.  Hours after no response and seeing that it's 
clearly approaching time-off for the rackhouse guys, I decided to use FTP 
and check the /cgi-bin/ directory to see if they messed up my 
permissions.  They DID.  They disabled the execution permissions for 
everybody.  So I politely CHMODed the site back into business.
