Just a breif look at the specs for the SL811 and the webpage it
should be an easy drop in. They are not implementing the slave
connector. Though the Cypress chip will handle slave mode as well.
The SL811 is cheap, around $8 US in single unit price. From what I
see of the final cartridge there is not much to the board. The SL811
has 256 bytes of onboard FIFO also.
An interesting idea.
