[Coco] [Color Computer] Which COCO drive controller does the COCO3 need?

I know the COCO 3 needs a controller that doesn't require 12V unless I
use the multipak interface.

Which version(s) only require 5V?
Will the FD-500 work or will only the newer small form factor
controllers work?
